Easier to understand... The New International Reader's Version was translated by the International Bible Society for Zondervan to provide a simplified Bible version geared towards people with lesser or limited reading abilities. The New Testament version was completed in 1994, the Old Testament in 1995 and the complete version was finally published in 1996. The NIrV is based upon the New International Version (NIV) version but with much a much simpler writing style.
Due to it being easy to read, this Bible version has become the most popular modern Bible translation. It is so easy to read that it has become a favorite version for children's Bibles. There is even a children's version featuring the Berenstain Bears. The NIrV is also very popular with people who are just learning to read in English.
